Street Food

Those who stay in these parts absolutely cannot help but taste some of the typical street food specialities.

My favourite? The arancine . It is a ball of breaded and fried rice, generally stuffed with meat sauce or cooked ham and mozzarella.

My favorites? Those of Bar Grazia in Alcamo.

Another of the specialties not to be missed is pane cunzato (seasoned bread), a bread filled with olive oil, salt, tomato, primo sale cheese and anchovies in oil.

I like to eat it at Bakery of Stabile and Anselmo near the beam of Scopello.

In the same bakery you can taste it sfincione , a sort of soft, high and spongy pizza, topped with a sauce of onions, anchovies and caciocavallo cheese .

Another delicacy not to be missed is the panelle sandwich.

Panella is a chickpea flour fritter typical of Sicilian street food.

My favorite can be found in Alcamo da Richards . Very Sicilian sandwich despite the English-speaking name.

I almost forgot! If you want to exaggerate the panelle you can add some croquettes .
